DID YOU KNOW?

It is not little at all

“You’d lose fifty percent of the hand strength, easily”, says a certified hand therapist Laurie Roger of Washington to New York Times, when asked about the vital role played by the pinkie in a hand grip.

The assumption of the fifth finger being left out while we hold small objects, write and eat or even hold a wine glass is being ignorant. Just imagine writing without the pinkie finger or carrying your shopping bags without your little finger.

The researchers at University of Ontario, post conducting a study on 25 men and women, concluded that losing the little finger on your dominant hand can be ruinous. The humble ‘pinkie’ along with the ring finger makes up to 67 per cent of the hand and that definitely does not make it a mere decorative accessory.

Take five minutes out and thank your little finger because life would be rather difficult without it.
